Sara Sawyer

Sara Sawyer is a Professor of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado Boulder, and a co-founder of Darwin Biosciences. Sara is an accomplished virologist and immunologist, and publishes on HIV, dengue virus, coronaviruses, and other viruses of acute concern to public health. Her expertise is the transmission of animal viruses to humans. During the Obama administration, Sara was awarded a Presidential Early Career Award at the White House. Sara is also a Richard M. Elliott awardee in Virology, a Burroughs Wellcome Fund PATH awardee, a fellow of the Alfred P. Sloan foundation, a recipient of the Andy Kaplan Prize in retrovirology, and a Career Awardee of the Burroughs Wellcome Fund.
